The Epistle of Q — Chapter Forty-Three

What did I do after General Assembly?

I will get to that shortly but let me first tell you an interesting moment on Thursday evening. I went to TD Place Stadium in Ottawa to Watch the first CFL game of the year there. Mind you it was only an exhibition game, but it was with the same people that I will be with at the last game of the year (i.e. the Grey Cup). It was a neat moment that doesn`t happen very often. We all even got to sit near each other and in the end the RedBlacks came back and won 30-29 in the last minute.

As for GA? Well after the final sederunt ended and all the booths had been disassembled, I gathered a few ministerial folk together, including the previous Moderator and we headed over to the University Club (Queen`s Faculty Club) for a delightful meal and post-mortem. That lasted a couple of hours; after which I spent another bit of time with the former Moderator alone. I then did some preparation for my Thursday meeting with my Editor (who is on the faculty at Queen`s). That meeting occured once again at the University Club over lunch (at the very same patio table, in fact). It was a very productive session and I do believe that the manuscript is picking up speed again. (I will have more to say on this topic later in the month hopefully!)

After Kingston I went to Ottawa for the above-noted CFL game. I also managed to hike around Pink Lake in the Gatineau Park (which earned myself a DQ treat), meet with a couple of former University of Saint Paul students, and do a bit of meandering along the rivers and canal. I concluded it all by travelling this morning to Montréal and attending the service at St. Andrew and St. Paul.
