The Jamaica Experience Continued
Good Friday was different this year. The view across the jungle was very spectacular and the sounds of the wide variety of birds was special; but, the real moment was a major lengthy drive with Rachael (Sandy’s daughter-in-law) through the most picturesque jungle mountain scenery. It was at times both breath-taking and jaw-dropping. There were moments where cars had to back up to let an on-coming vehicle to pass; other times there were pot-holes bigger even that ones in Edmonton streets.
There were a great many churches, although few were mainline Protestant ones. And it being a religious holiday, there were frequent views of people very colourfully dressed walking on their way along the road to their particular church. Due to the population being located close to this mountain road, most of these churches were relatively small but usually well-maintained.
Arriving at the Resort it seemed quaint until we got to our specific cottage. By then it was obvious that the place was first class and the facilities were more than sufficient to give one a serious moment of relaxation. And that was before one looked out at a spectacular view of the ocean over the cottage’s own private pool. The day concluded with an evening dinner of shared plates which was very delicious.
Rest came easily…
