Just thought I should share a milestone…just got off the phone after welcoming my mother to her 101st year. The weekend was great celebrating her 100th birthday and now she embarks on a new century… The most pressing question for all her offspring is: whose genes do we have? hers? or Dad’s? (he passed away in his 81st year).
There are days when she is not that happy to wake up, as she doesn’t have any of her own friends any more as they have all passed on. But today she was quite cheery and recounted all the highlights of the weekend.
Soooooo, here’s to growing old, I still think it is better than the alternative!! And my Mom seems to be a good validation of that assertion.
